Maybe NBC found something that many thought never existed: American Soccer Fans. According to NBC Sports, more than 3.4 million U.S. viewers watched its seven Premier League telecasts last weekend across their three networks: NBC, NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) and mun2.
That was the biggest audience ever here for the Premier League's opening weekend. NBC did a GREAT job of promoting soccer with these ads...
Could it be after years of promoting a sport that "every youth can play" with orange slices at halftime and games that can end in a tie, America has grown up to become a soccer hot bed?
Or... maybe people tuned in to see more of Jason Sudeikis.
