They never let me anywhere near the studios but I'm sure I'd have the best "one hour - all request hour" if they did!
Hi! I'm Mike The Web Guy. My boss told me that I should start one of these blogs, even though I'm not "on the radio." After being told that it was a "good idea," I figured, "why not?" I could always use another thing to do. Things about me... I'm a HUGE San Diego Chargers Fan (Any SoCal Locals who want to get together for a game - COMMENT back at me and let's HOOK IT UP). I live in Clifton Park. I'm all about APPLE (sorry PC people). I have a woman who lives upstairs in my house who is related to me by marriage. We have two kids who pretty much run our social life.
Everyone loves when facebook changes things, right? Yeah. We've heard from fans of the station that they are not seeing our posts in their News Feed. Here's why:
Facebook now requires page owners to pay to promote updates if we want our content to be seen by more of our fans. If we don't pay to promote our posts, only about 10% of our fans receive updates on their Facebook homepage feed.
To keep RECEIVING ALL POSTS FROM US you have to open our page, hover the mouse on the "Like" button near the gear symbol. In the pop-up select "ADD TO THE INTEREST LISTS". Then create an interest list (Make a Name for your sites). Then when you select that interest list you will see ALL of our posts.
In nerd terms… The algorithm is now heavily favored towards interaction, so if you have "Top Stories" set for your feed, you're only generally going to get posts from people and pages you post on or like on a regular basis. This is awfully convenient, because at the same time Facebook rolled out their promoted posts program. You can read an excellent article about this by clicking here.
LONG STORY SHORT: Make sure you LIKE us and ADD US TO THE INTEREST LISTS to keep us in your Feed.
