In jail, accused of stealing 10 cents.

Charlie Phelps is being held on robbery and weapons charges after Albany Police say he robbed a woman on South Pearl Street. The victim says Phelps threatened her with a hypodermic needle at around 10 am on June 27th and then stole 10 cents from her. 

Bystanders came to the woman’s aid and followed the suspect until police caught up with him.


Charlie Phelps, 21, of Broomall, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody without incident.


Phleps was charged with Robbery 1st and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th and arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court. He was remanded to the Albany County Jail.
